1997 to Present
During the course of my carrier I have designed a wide range of architectural projects for a diverse group of clients. While some projects have moved forward, and were constructed, many have not. Following are samples of some of those projects.
After assuming control of Nielsen Building Systems Commercial architectural department in 2005, I was responsible for preliminarily concept develop for all project proposals. Although the many unbuilt projects that I designed for NBS may not have progressed through construction documents, and construction management, they were carried to a further level then most preliminary design work that is done in a typical architectural firm. This is due to the nature of Design/Build. Typical architectural designs were only one part of a project proposal. The proposals also included detail construction budgets, as the purpose of the proposal was not only to present a design, but also to sell the client on constructing that design. To this end, all "preliminary" designs needed to be developed to at least "design development" level. Floor plans, elevations, site plan, framing, and typical wall sections, all needed to be designed prior to budgeting, as the budgeting is part of the concept proposal. This process necessitated a complete concept.
